How to extract color and aroma?

1. Gently crush a small pinch of threads.
2. Pour 2-3 tablespoons of warm, but not boiling, water, milk, or broth over them.
3. Let steep for 10-15 minutes.
4. Add the entire infusion, along with the threads, at the end of cooking.
