How to prepare the perfect matcha?

  3. Whisk vigorously with the chasen until a delicate foam forms.

Origin and quality of the tea

The taste and properties of matcha depend on the region of cultivation. Our matcha comes from Shizuoka Prefecture, which is famous for producing tea with a balanced, slightly sweet flavor profile.

The Chasen (茶筅) is a traditional bamboo whisk used to prepare matcha tea in the Japanese tea ceremony. It is an essential tool that allows you to achieve a perfectly foamy and velvety consistency of the drink.

The chasen is an object made from a single piece of bamboo, which is precisely cut and shaped into thin tines. The number of tines (teeth) can vary – the more there are, the easier it is to obtain a delicate foam. The most common variants are:

  • 80-tine whisk – the most commonly used, ideal for daily preparation of matcha.
  • 100-tine and more – for a fluffier foam, used in tea ceremonies.
  • Chasen with fewer tines (e.g., 50-tine) – intended for thicker matcha.

The set includes an 80-tine chasen, ideal for obtaining perfectly foamed matcha.

Chasen (茶筅) – traditional matcha whisk

Chasen is a handmade bamboo whisk used to prepare matcha tea in the traditional way. It is an inseparable element of the Japanese tea ceremony and allows for the thorough mixing of matcha powder with water, creating a perfectly foamy, velvety drink.

Natural material – Made from a single piece of bamboo, without the use of glues or artificial substances.

Handmade production – Each whisk is carved by craftsmen, which ensures its exceptional quality and durability.

Perfect foam – The delicate, thin tines of the chasen make matcha gain a creamy consistency and a deep aroma.

To ensure the chasen lasts as long as possible, it is worth rinsing it with water after each use and drying it in an airy place, preferably on a special chasen naoshi holder. ☕✨
