Tonka bean is a tropical plant from the legume family that can be found naturally in Brazil, Venezuela, Guyana and Nigeria.

Used for the production of e.g. fragrances, but interestingly, its fruit is not only used to produce perfumes.

It is also used to make soap and tobacco - then it serves as a flavor enhancer. The tree is also called cumaru - the bean itself is also called coumarin.
